- My Five-Five-FingersMartins Tomisin · 1 min read · 13.8K readsIn this poem, MY FIVE-FIVE-FINGERS, one must take note of the African proverbs used in the poem in order to know the poem better.
In a nutshell, in this poem, I used the 'ten fingers' of the hand as an allegory and symbolism of peace or serenity. The ability of the ten fingers to live well in peace without fighting each other, is really a wonderful thing...Looking into our society nowadays, people loves fighting her neighbour instead of keeping peace in the society they reside - they let hatred germinate in their heart, which leads to war. When you look at the fingers of the hand, for example, the fingers did play a vital roles, each with different size, and different work. In spite of their major roles each performs, they are able to live together as one: this is what we want in our society; the ability for both rich and poor to live together is a godly thing that will move our society forward without war.Comedy
