I rest myself and close my close my eyes
And think about how fast time flies
Right now I am old and haggard
And over the years my children have been badgered
I now live in an old age home
With no visitors, left all alone
Oh how wonderfully the years have gone by
Being a satisfied man I will now die
I have witnessed wars and victory
And talked to people who have made history
I have stumbled my way to pyramid of Giza
And went to Louvre to see the famous Monalisa
I have imagined my face on Mt Rushmore
And Irish jigged on every possible pub floor
I have deciphered the undecipherable
Soon my tales will be in every fable
Oh what a jovial man I have been
All the adventures in my life I have seen
I did woo a woman once in my life
Later on that beauty soon became my wife
We circumnavigated around the world
All are the treasure troves we unfurled
I had my first child James
And named him after the river Thames
Now that I am all old and crestfallen
He lives somewhere happily in Holland
My wife passed away during our adventures of a lifetime
But her jovial soul in my heart will forever shine
Every then and now I visit her grave
And talk to her and sometimes rave
Now I have only doctors and nurses to talk
And sometimes with my friends I go for a walk
The night fall has now come
And with my thoughts about my adventurous journey I am done
Oh! how satisfactory my life was
From a adventurous young boy I am now old with cracked jaws
Peacefully I will now go to sleep
Thinking about my past trying not to weep
