Each rain drop echoes my heart beats

As it falls from a pregnant cloud

Onto my window sill

Reminding me of hope that still exists

Even as I despair of a love lost,

Of withering crops, of famine thirst.

Each raindrop gushes down

To drench a loveless life,

Arousing lust, doing away with rust

That had destroyed life until now.

Like an act of lovemaking after a long spell

Of denial and hurt, the rains soak my very soul!
