We stand in the first row,

On a black and white checkerboard,

To save our territory,

One of us makes the first move.

We are a pack of eight,

Who leads the entire group,

On a battle ground,

To take a brave fight.

We not only protect our master,

But protect the knights, bishops,

Rooks as well and protects;

Our master only love THE QUEEN.

We are the first to be sacrificed,

To protect the KING and

The entire battle team;

But are the least to be remembered.

We lose our companions in the battle,

But still didn't get praise like a mighty knight;

For we are the pawns of a chess board.
