- Miles AwayAnanya Biswas · 2 min read · 13.1K reads“Why’s this happening to us? Why only us?” The teardrops fell one after the other, dampening the white shirt Manya wore to surprise him, his favorite. But she never could have thought, this day was supposed to end like this. Darkness was all she could see with her eyes open. She felt tired. Mentally and physically. Foremost, her heart felt weak, too weak to carry her, too weak for each breath she took. “All these years meant nothing to you?” She struggled to get out each word, eyes bloodshot with unshed tears, his steady breaths were the only thing that kept her sane. But alas he was the reason for her insanity. Could people be so heartless? She couldn’t help but feel her each piece being broken, broken beyond repair. Her sobs echoed throughout her room. She couldn’t hold it in, it was too hard to keep the pain suppressed. “No” Was she hearing right? She hoped she did not. She hoped her senses were delusional, for she wasn’t ready to believe what came out of his mouth. The stone-cold voice could not be his, her Manan wasn’t like this, never have been, and never will be. “This had to happen. I can’t carry this burden with me forever. Sorry” And the beep sound came soon after.Drama
